Gloria!
The year is 1800, in the Sant Ignazio College, an old decrepit musical institution for girls, somewhere near Venice. Here lives “the Mute”, a silent, solitary maid devoted to the humblest chores. No one knows her name, Teresa, and no one suspects her extraordinary, hidden visionary talent that enables her to sense the universe’s harmony and reshape reality through music. While everybody at the Sant Ignazio is making a huge fuss about the imminent visit of the newly enthroned Pope and the old Chapel Master is struggling to put together a new composition for the Pontifex, Teresa makes an exceptional discovery in the storeroom: a brand-new invention, a beautiful instrument… a pianoforte. Around Teresa, with her powerful and, at the time, revolutionary “music machine”, gathers an amazing “quartet” of young women, the best, most energetic musicians of Sant Ignazio. From this secret cell of great yet overlooked talents, a new music will be born that the Pope (and the world) certainly did not expect... Gloria! is about the imagination, fantasy and talent of all the many female composers who, like flowers left to dry, are hidden away in the pages of history.

- "The directorial debut of Italian actress and singer-songwriter Margherita Vicario is a true crowd-pleaser.... One would need a tough skin not to be won over by the mischievous musical anachronism at the heart of Gloria! and the chemistry of the young female cast that delivers it."
- "“Gloria!” is about people finding community in music and in using it to express feelings which are otherwise ignored. It is, with apologies, glorious."
- "“Gloria!” is all about chasing the highest of high notes."
- "Gloria!, a historical musical set in Italy, is a welcome reprieve from the dark and depressing. It unfolds like a riff on Sister Act, but ends with brilliant young things defying the Pope."
- "[I]t’s a joyous ode to the innumerable female composers erased by history."
