Synopsis

Hot off her 4th world title at the tender age of 22, Australian surfer Stephanie Gilmore was positioned to break away from the rest of her competitors. But then a violent attack brought her out of the water and into an unfamiliar world of anxiety, fear and doubt. Stephanie in the Water offers an intimate look into the highs and lows of Gilmore's career as she finds the strength to fight her way back into the sport she loves. As an intimate and uplifting look into Gilmore's career and psyche, this film's recommended for women empowerment organizations as well as university athletic programs and courses in Psychology and Women's Studies.
